For guests staying only at Dar Assarou during their Moroccan holiday, this day trip enables you to experience the bustling city of Marrakech, an ancient walled city renowned for its architecture and colourful souks. It includes a guided walking tour of the main attractions of the ancient medina, lunch in a traditional riad, and an afternoon tour of the places of interest beyond the medina walls.

In the morning our guided tour starts near the 'Mellah', the Jewish district of Marrakech medina. In the Djemaa el Fna, a huge public square and market place in the heart of the medina, we learn about its fascinating history. We will also see Koutoubia Mosque and visit the souks before taking lunch on the terrace of a traditional riad.

Our first stop after lunch is at the Majorelle Gardens, a two and half acre botanical garden. Next we visit the Palmeraie, an exclusive area of opulence and a real contrast to the medina. We then drive along Avenue Mohamed V, in the new city, still with remnants of the French colonial period. In Hivernage there is time for a coffee and cake at 'Cappuccino' before we drive back to Dar Assarou.
