Tizi Mzik Trek (11).jpg

The Tizi n'Mzik Pass has been a favourite day walk for Dar Assarou guests for many years. At an altitude of 2,489m it offers wonderful views of both the Imlil and Azzaden Valleys. We grade it as a 'moderate' day trek with over 600m of ascent and descent and approx. 5 hours walking.

From Dar Assarou we cross the Imlil Valley and head up to the main trail that leads from Imlil to Kasbah du Toubkal. From here we walk up to the Aremd road then follow a trail through the Toubkal National Park that leads to the Tizi n'Mzik Pass. There's time for photos en route as we slowly trek up to the pass. At the pass there is a stone shelter with refreshments on sale (seasonal). After time to marvel at the views we begin our descent back to Imlil taking the trail on the opposite side of the valley to our ascent. This leads to the Berber villages of Mzik and Arhrene which we pass through before arriving back at Dar Assarou. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch break on our way back.
